SUNY Plattsburgh will launch “Season of Purpose,” a year-end giving initiative for alumni, faculty, staff and friends to help students discover and pursue their purpose beginning Dec. 2, the university’s Giving Tuesday — #PlattsGive: Powered by Purpose.

Following Thanksgiving and national shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #PlattsGive invites Cardinal supporters to transform a single day into an opportunity for generosity and impact.

Throughout the Season of Purpose, which runs through Dec. 31, SUNY Plattsburgh aims to:

  • Inspire 150 donors on Giving Tuesday
  • Raise $300,000 in support of programs, scholarships and student success initiatives by the end of the day Dec. 31

“Purpose has always been at the heart of a Plattsburgh education,” said Paula Bachman, director of annual giving. “This campaign is about honoring the ways SUNY Plattsburgh shaped our alumni, while ensuring today’s students have the same transformational opportunities.”

The Plattsburgh College Foundation — the nonprofit organization stewarding private support for the university — channels contributions into high-impact student experiences, including scholarships, career development, research, hands-on learning and campus programs. Gifts may be directed to the Plattsburgh Fund, the university’s greatest area of need, or to specific departments, scholarships, affinity funds or student programs.

Every gift, regardless of size, helps power the purpose of current and future Cardinals and counts toward campaign goals, Bachman said.
