About the M.S. in Data Analytics
The M.S. in Data Analytics at SUNY Plattsburgh is a 30-credit graduate program that prepares you to gather, analyze, interpret and communicate data-driven insights for business decision-making. Offered by the AACSB-accredited School of Business and Economics, the program can be completed in 11 months through a cohort-based model, with coursework available on campus or 100% online.
You will work with industry-standard tools, including R, Python, Tableau, SQL and SAS, throughout the program. The curriculum blends quantitative methods with real-world applications, culminating in a capstone project involving data and interaction with industry and government partners. Graduates can earn SAS certification during the program.
The program is designed for both recent graduates and working professionals who want to enter or advance in analytics-focused careers. No prior analytics background is required, though familiarity with basic statistics and business concepts is helpful.

100% of SUNY Plattsburgh data analytics graduates are employed within six months of graduation. Graduates have been hired by organizations including Deloitte, XPO Logistics and Cintas Corporation.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of management analysts (which includes many analytics roles) is projected to grow 10% from 2024 to 2034, much faster than the average for all occupations. The BLS projects approximately 100,000 new management analyst positions over the decade.
