Karin is a proud first-generation student and graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, earning a B.A. in mass media communications. In addition, she also completed an M.S. in higher education administration from Syracuse University. Karin has worked in the Claude J. Clark Learning Center for over 25 years. In that time, she has been fortunate to meet and work with thousands of students — from helping students navigate the transition to campus to ongoing supervisory relationships with peer tutors. For Karin, her favorite part of her work is the opportunity to be a part of a student’s success and making sure they feel welcomed, valued and supported.

Outside of work, Karin enjoys spending time with family and friends, and watching the Buffalo Bills win.

Regan was swept across the Nebraska prairie to the shores of Lake Champlain at SUNY Plattsburgh in the spring of 2020. She has been involved in writing tutoring and consulting since 2012, and holds a B.A. in English and French from Aquinas College and an M.A. in English, specializing in composition and rhetoric from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is also a published essayist and poet.

Regan manages the writing tutors and teaches ENG390: Writing Tutoring Theories and Practice, in addition to giving writing workshops around campus. Her favorite part of her job is watching the “light bulb moment” during tutoring, when students have figured out something that they previously didn’t quite get!

Erica Miller, English Language Support Specialist

Erica arrived at SUNY Plattsburgh in August 2025 to serve as the English language support specialist. She has been teaching English as a second language and training teachers since 2015, with experience spanning the U.S., Iraq, Uruguay and Nepal. She holds a B.A. in Spanish from SUNY Albany and an M.A. in linguistics from Syracuse University. At Plattsburgh, she teaches and designs the ESL curriculum and provides support to international students across campus. Her favorite part of the job is watching students grow more confident as they bridge languages, cultures and communities.

Diane Jennette-Costin, Office Assistant II

Diane graduated with a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1997, majoring in in-vitro cell biology and biotechnology. She chose not to go into her field of study and jumped into the work force. After seven years, Diane was able to return to SUNY Plattsburgh as a staff member for a promotional position.

Her favorite part of her job is student contact. She loves meeting new people and helping others, and if Diane doesn’t know the answer to a question, she will find someone who will — but she always has answers if you have questions about her rescue cats!

Wendy has been with SUNY Plattsburgh since 2003. She has worked in several areas of the college but has been with the academic advising office and the Learning Center in a shared position since 2006. She loves the interaction with students and the satisfaction of seeing the students excel when working with the LC tutors.

Wendy loves to travel and she has visited England, France and Ireland, and she looks forward to future trips. A North Country native, she enjoys nature and all animals, big and small.

Noah Fortin, Graduate Fellow

Noah is the Learning Center’s graduate fellow and content tutor coordinator and is responsible for aiding in the recruiting, hiring, and training of peer tutors, as well as providing ongoing support. Noah is local to the Adirondacks and the greater Plattsburgh area. He completed his B.A. in psychology with a minor in school psychology at SUNY Plattsburgh. Currently, Noah is enrolled in SUNY Plattsburgh’s school psychology M.A./C.A.S. program. Outside of his academic responsibilities, he enjoys spending time outside with friends or watching funny movies.
