About the School District Leader Certificate
The School District Leader (SDL) Graduate Certificate at SUNY Plattsburgh is an 8-credit, 100% online program that qualifies educators for New York State district-level administrative certification. The program is completed in a single semester, running from mid-May to mid-August, and is registered by the New York State Education Department. It is designed for educators who hold School Building Leader (SBL) certification and want to advance into superintendent, assistant superintendent, or other central office leadership roles.
The program consists of two courses with an embedded internship experience. Most internship hours are completed at your primary school or district site. If you have completed the SBL C.A.S. at SUNY Plattsburgh you can continue into this program through a simplified admissions process, with no new application fee and no admission deposit required.
